Vacancy - Full time and Part time Chef at the Coach House Café
The newly renovated Coach House Café is looking for enthusiastic and friendly candidate to join our busy front of house team in the on site café. Sledmere estate is the hidden gem of East Yorkshire, a thriving visitor attraction with so much to see and do it appeals to a wide range of people with varying interests. Families love to visit the animals in the farm park and adventure play area along with attending our fantastic seasonal events, while others enjoy the wide open spaces, beautiful gardens and take in the history of the beautiful big house.
The newly renovated Coach House Café is looking for inspirational chefs to join our busy team in the on site café and state of the art kitchen.
Responsibilities of successful candidates include:
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment needed
- Prepare ingredients to use in cooking
- Check food while cooking
- Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
- Keep and orderly and sanitised environment in the kitchen
- Ensure all food items are stored properly
- Check quality of ingredients
- Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages
Skill specification:
- Proven experience as a cook
- Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- Ability to work in a team
- Very good communication skills
Vacancy - Full and part time waiting staff at the Coach House Café
The newly renovated Coach House Café is looking for enthusiastic and friendly candidate to join our busy front of house team in the on site café.
Responsibilities of successful candidates include:
- Welcoming visitors
- Serving at the counter
- Use of the state-of-the-art coffee machine (Training provided)
- Till operation including card and cash handling
- Serving food and clearing tables
- Dealing with customer queries
- Assist with daily set up and clean down of the cafe
Skill specification:
- Excellent communication
- Personable and approachable
- Works well in a team as well as independently
- Self-motivated and uses own initiative to complete jobs
- Able to prioritise tasks
- Works well under pressure whilst maintaining high standards of customer service
Experience in this role is advantages but full training will be given.

POT WASH STAFF
The newly renovated Coach House Café is looking for enthusiastic and friendly candidate to join our busy front of house team in the on site café.
Responsibilities of successful candidates include:
- Keeping the pot wash area clean and tidy
- Ensuring all pots that are brought into the kitchen are cleared and stacked in the dishwasher to be thoroughly cleaned
- Use of commercial dishwasher including cleaning and maintaining using some chemicals (full training given)
- Ensuring all clean dishes are returned to their correct storage area
- Working alongside kitchen staff to help to maintain high standards of food hygiene
Skill specification:
- Excellent communication
- Personable and approachable
- Works well in a team as well as independently
- Self-motivated and uses own initiative to complete jobs
- Able to prioritise tasks
- Works well under pressure whilst maintaining high standards of customer service
Experience in this role is advantages but full training will be given. Candidates must be over 16 years.
