This Sledmere Sykes Portrait, taken in September 2023, marks an historical moment. It is one of a series of portraits composed by the professional photographer, Grahame Mellanby FRSA, organised by Sledmere Estate’s Curator to commemorate the last siblings of continued birth and upbringing in Sledmere. In the background on the table is a black and white photograph of the current siblings with their parents, Sir Richard and Lady Virginia, also taken in the library. We are grateful to Grahame Mellanby FRSA for his expertise that enabled this special and memorable moment.
