Sledmere House is licensed to hold civil wedding ceremonies in three of the principal state rooms; The Library, Main Hall and Drawing Room. Full of history and charm, Sledmere House provides a perfect setting and backdrop for any wedding photo album. Experienced staff will guide and assist you throughout your day and the Events Co-ordinator will work alongside you throughout the whole process, from your initial enquiry right through to the finer details of your wedding day.

Exclusively yours for the day, you and your guests can take in the grandeur of the parkland and grounds and admire the beauty of the House which exudes a warm and relaxed atmosphere. Drinks can be enjoyed on the Terrace whilst photographs are taken before moving into the Dining Room to be seated for your first meal together as a married couple.
"The day was wonderful and everyone passed comments on how impressed they were with both the house and the people. If we had to do the day again with the benefit of hindsight, we wouldn't change a thing." Mark and Natasha Flint, 21st March 2009.
Catering at Sledmere is always to a high standard and our in-House caterer’s attention to detail is indisputable. We can provide a range of food and menu choices for your special day ranging from a selection of delicious canapés during your drinks reception to buffets or three course wedding breakfasts. Wedding Breakfasts can take place in the stately Dining Room for parties of up to 70 people, for larger numbers of guests or evening parties Sledmere has a marquee lawn in the grounds, only a five minute walk from the House.
"Without exception every single guest said it was the best wedding they had ever been to which is totally down to Sledmere House." Malcolm and Stella Sissons, 4th July, 2009.
We know how important getting ready on the morning of the big day is for Brides, so why not make the most of the Sledmere surroundings and use the Red Bedroom, one of Sledmere’s Master Bedrooms, as your dressing room? This elegant and cosy room is a wonderful place to spend time with loved ones and have last minute hair and makeup done.
"We couldn't have asked for more-only maybe, that the day could have lasted a little longer!!!" Ryan and Kirsty Smith, 25th July, 2009
After the ceremony has taken place, as your guests are ready at the foot of the stairs to meet their Bride and Groom, you can descend the Imperial Staircase together whilst from above, high in the glass dome, petals delicately fall to the ground around you. This is a special moment at any Sledmere wedding and a great moment for those unique and truly beautiful photographs to be taken.
"Sledmere House must be one of the very best places (in the world) to have a wedding." Geoff and Karen Bishop - Parents to Emma Massey (nee Bishop) who married Simon Massey, 12th September, 2009.
